Samurai Information

Samurai were the main warrior class of Japan. They followed the Bushido which included total loyalty to there daimyo, not to care about wealth, and willingness to die in battle. If dishonored they committed ritual suicide to bring back family honor. They fought in many wars and were a main part to Japan’s army. They were completely loyal to the daimyo. They were controlled by the shogun. The shogun was in complete control of all military units including the samurai. The first shogun to be in control of the samurai was Minamoto Yoritomo. Samurai in Japan were also important because since they were the main military unit, war was important so this made samurai even more useful. When samurai fought, they were in return given land by there daimyo. When given land, samurai were to protect there daimyo and fight in wars for him.
